This is a wonderful vintage box that has clearly been treasured and cared for - A wooden box covered in the most exquisite period heavy paper - this dates from circa 1930's - Covered in Thistles - I have a particular fondness for it, as it so reminds me of one of my all time favourite fabric designs - "Sophie's Thistles" by Jean Monro. Simple rectangular shape with strong hinges and a strong clip clasp on the front with a leather covered handle.
It has a piece of green baize in the base.
Perfect for display - but equally suitable and a safe place to store treasures and keepsakes.
Perfect storage in any room in the house -
Condition - Excellent - there is very slight rub on some of the corners - but overall no damage or tears to the paper. It does appear to have a light varnish coating which has possibly protected it.
