Pierre GRISOT was born in Besançon in 1911, a French figurative painter recognized for the liveliness and elegance of his works that evoke the post-war period. His precocious talent led him to exhibit in Montmartre from the age of ten, before entering the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts. His first major Parisian exhibition took place at the Ror Volmar gallery in 1949. Quickly, his talent seduces amateurs and gallery lists, thus opening the doors of the most prestigious galleries in London, Tokyo, Venice, as well as museums in the Middle and Near East. Pierre GRISOT worked alongside and partnered with masters such as Bonnard, Utrillo, Dufy, Vlaminck, and Marie Laurencin, some of whom became his friends. GRISOT's work is a vibrant tribute to Paris and its Parisians, his compositions with portraits of women with a ravishing silhouette and naughty modesty, whether they are coquettishly elegant or admirably undressed are among his favorite subjects, his choices of radiant, intense and bold colors evoke the Arts-Deco era. With a colorful palette and a unique touch, it has left an indelible mark on the history of French pictorial art,
