Jean-Claude Chauray (born Rochefort, April 14, 1934 - died La Rochelle, July 14, 1996), is a French painter of the 20th century. Critics nickname him "the painter of presidents"; he spent his childhood and adolescence in Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon.
Admired for his classical painting technique, he often made still lifes in which he represented fruits, earthenware, tins, glass objects.
