This is such a charming piece of practical vintage folk art most likely hand made and decorated on the base with hand painted flowers. Dates from circa 1930s-40's - French  Four concertina arms to hold the yarn and a turned screw centre with a finial on the top. A domed wood base decorated with folk art style flowers. This is a delightful size for display on a shelf or similar - not too large but yet not too small ..... just perfect  Each arm extends perfectly - There is a tiny split on one of the arms, which we have left as is some one has tied a small thread neat round , but this could be easily glued if preferred.
