French vintage oil on stretched canvas painting of a French table - A still life or Nature morte as the French describe - The painting is signed on the lower right and endorsed on the reverse by the artist in pen.- the verso also offers us the title of the painting "Le chaudron"/ The Cauldron.
The table epitomises many a French farmhouse table- The polished brass jam pot ,ready to turn the orchard fruits into jam or confiture, The loaf of bread, already enjoyed & sliced with the knife, whilst fresh, a ripe Melon and an old stoneware pitcher- no doubt holding some wine ready for lunch.
Signed Jacques Leplat -Jacques was an artist born in the early part of the 21st century and was a member of the " l'artiste de l'Académie du Var-" his paintings are all inspired by his beloved Provence- or more precisely the department of Var. He has exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions both in France and abroad.
It is is framed in a painted quality wooden frame - original to the painting -the colour is a deepest Grey graphite.
