A pair of fine antique Worcester early Dr Wall period blue and white pine cone pattern plates dating from 1758-1793. Both plates have a raised shaped rim and decorated with pine cones set amidst flowers with floral designs applied around the rim. With blue painted crescent mark to the base one solid , one hollow - both under glaze).

The provenance of these plates is they were found in France but are from the Grant Davidson Collection- A distinguished historian of the Welsh potteries and a past member of the Museum's Court of Governors. He is renowned for his outstanding study collection of British ceramics from the late Middle Ages to the early 20th century, Mr Grant-Davidson also has a particular interest in English ceramics of the mid 18th century- hence his extensive collection of Worcester - marked and catalogued on reverse label.
Condition - The large plate has a very tiny chip on the reverse edge (not visible from front) small plate has two tiny nibbles on reverse (again not visible from front)
