Superb heavy PAIR of French antique Louis XVI style gilded bronze lamps. These are circa 1870's- 90's '.Originally they would have been candles but have been electrified. They are a high end casting with fine detail and weight /They are stylish and elegant.
With twisted central axis, reinforced by four also twisted rope consoles, resting on a shaped square base in carved pale ochre marble and four ball feet. The lamps are decorated with foliage. The whole topped with a pine cone. Do enlarge the photo's - the detail on these is quite charming . Finished with 4 petite pleated cream shades with metallic decorative braid.
The double candle lamps are set at the same level- 4 bulbs total. (bulbs included)
Condition - Good antique condition -Fully working - One has a tiny historic repair to the marble base - well done and only visible on close scrutiny - otherwise no damage to bronze or marble - they have the original card drip covers. The wiring is good 3.5 metres on one and 2.5 metres on the other (Silk at the first part and non silk beyond the on/off switch - both have French plugs), The silk shades are "aged" beautifully and have some tiny specks but do not detract.

They take 4 small edison screw European E14 bulbs -included
US and Canadian buyers can find bulb adapters on line to use their E12 bulbs with these E14 fittings. search 'E14 to E12 adapter'
You will require 4 adapters, they cost approx 2-4 USD each. The adapters screw into place allowing you to then insert your E12 bulbs which will then work normally on 110v.
Alternatively E14 bulbs are readily available to USA and Canadian customers through online US based lighting suppliers.
The lights work and are to French electrical safety standards(they have been checked) - but we would always recommend that all lighting is checked prior to using - by a qualified electrician in order to ensure it complies with your Countrys' regulations- these consist of a simple wiring that would be easy to change should regulations require.
