PAIR of heavy antique tapestry weave curtains, dating from the 1920's - these have spent all their life in a small chateau here in SW France.

Traditional and timeless design of bouquets of flowers in neoclassical urns- these are we believe woven from cotton and are in extremely good and usable condition- they are thick and heavy and although unlined (which of course the buyer could do if preferred) they would be amazing as a foundation to block out draughts or light from a window or door.

Versatile myriad of colours to work with on a cream ground. They have 8 small pinch pleats at the top.

They naturally could be used as curtains- alternatively there is a good amount of fabric here that would lend itself to many projects- this fabric is heavy enough for upholstery.

Condition. Very good condition, weave is strong and thick , no thinning. There is slight sun fade - down each edge, but barely noticeable. Where the hem. has been turned there is some rub where the hem has sat against the floor, but we have not cleaned or laundered and suspect this may come out.
