A rare pair of carved wood (possibly Chestnut) appliqués/panels- mirror images - one facing right and one left - not identical - each one unique .
Country style carving of birds , decorative rings and flowers - primitive styling, these date we believe from the mid 19th century - they have been carved for decorative purposes either for panelling or furniture.
These could be displayed on a wall as a pair or equally would be suitable to decorate furniture.
