This is an astounding statement piece of French Art deco lighting - circa 1920's, possibly even a little earlier. Highly unusual and very similar in styling to E.F Caldwell lighting of the same period.

To me it says water lilies (but clearly this is to individual interpretation) - It has a large oversized ceiling rose in the shape of a flat lily pad this conceals a large support hook to fasten to the ceiling.
From here 3 bronze chains support the light fitting. Two deep bronze crowns /couronnes with a golden bark finish and frilled edges- hang one beneath the other. The upper one, carries 3 lion heads, each one carrying a large ring which holds gilded metal leaf flowers, below which hang bell shaped glass decorative shades.

The central lower gilded crown has three small screws which hold an opaque glass convex bowl shade.

Each hanging bell shade has a bulb and a central bulb hangs down which illuminates the central glass bowl. Each of the bulb holders carry the original porcelain shade holders on the bulb fittings (The light takes 4 E27 screw fitting bulbs)

This light is in full working order and has been checked by our electrician. Wiring to current French standards and fully working (it has been rewired since manufacture ) 
- we would always recommend that all lighting is checked prior to using - by a qualified electrician in order to ensure it complies with your Countrys' regulations

Please do be aware this is a genuine antique piece it is not a reproduction -and consequently carries signs of age, discolouration and wear-. We have not over cleaned and it could be cleaned further -it currently has a little verdigris and patina- it could be polished to bright gold by the buyer if preferred. Our theory is patina can be removed - but not added- so we leave this choice to the buyer.
All glass shades have no cracks or chips - all in excellent condition.
All porcelain bulb holders also in excellent condition.
