French vintage oil on board painting of a French table - Against a dark ground -apples are displayed on a farmhouse table and a quintessential French stoneware bowl with grapes.The painting is textural and with depth- It is framed elegantly in a gesso and wood decorative frame in Gold and silver , possibly from a slightly earlier date than the painting.
signed B. Buchet - lower right side. (and on verso in pencil)- dated 47 or 41 ? , so this is an early Bouchet- when he was aged just 24 or 30.
Born of a French father and a Russian mother, Boris Buchet was a Fine Arts student in the Jean Souverbie studio. Close to the circle of artists in Montparnasse,Paris he painted landscapes, portraits, nudes and still lifes. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Indépendants.
Boris BUCHET was born in 1917 and died in 1999.

Condition- Good vintage condition, There is no damage or paint loss to the painting , no fading - the colours are strong, there are a couple of tiny knocks to the frame, but these are not noticeable and overall the frame is in very good condition and is of a particular fine quality .
