Absolutely adore this - Retro , mid century French styling on this unique wrought iron frame with scoubidou work in red and circular lidded, hinged basket, with circular handles sitting securely in the top.

Scoubidou is a knotting craft, originally aimed at children. It originated in France, where it became a fad in the late 1950s and has remained popular. It is named after the 1958 song of the same name by the French singer Sacha Distel.

It is possible to use the lower part for storage of fabric or yarns- and then the basket for smaller items.

This has some weight and sits firmly on the floor - although intended originally as a craft basket - I believe this would work perfectly well in a bathroom or home office for storage.

In good condition for age - . Vinyl cord strong and undamaged - good colour on frame, a little fading to the red on the top of the basket , clearly where it has been in the sun- but nothing to detract from the mid century style of this piece. There are some tiny holes in places in the basket - minimal & treated.

Practical for storage and a great visual piece.
