This is one sensational fish service - Finest French Limoges antique porcelain dating from the late 19th century - 1880 - 90 - this is an incredibly rare colour way to find - primarily due to the difficulties and complexities of producing an effective pink glaze at that time. The set comprises of one large oval platter with integral handles and 6 circular plates - all pieces carry the Limoges back stamp. BETOULE Emile et LEGRAND were in production 1864- 1920- the stamp on these pieces was in use between 1880-90 Interestingly - The Legrand part of the partnership - went onto be Legrand Electrical components - a Company recognised worldwide - whose roots began in porcelain production in Limoges. Whilst we appreciate this colour Fish service is not for everyone - we absolutely adore it and think it would create a wild & stunning table setting - Plates 9"/23cms Oval platter length 16"/41cms x 10.5"/27cms Condition - Good antique condition - No chips , cracks or crazing on any of the pieces - wonderful fresh and vibrant colours - there are anomalies with this colour glaze due to the recognised complexities of this colour - these show as tiny glaze misses in specks (visible in photos) - but do not detract from these unique pieces - One plate has a tiny fleck on the edge which is glazed over and a factory firing speck - mentioned for complete honesty and transparency. Please do check out the photos as they are an important and integral part of the description.
