Antique aged French ironstone tureen/soupiere dating from the last quarter of the 19th century - Unusual Lilac/lavender colour way and rare pattern Volubilis.

Transfer ware pattern from the Bordeaux Vieillard Factory.

Elegant detailing around the top finial and fabulously detailed side handles - 

The Lavender colour is strong and unfaded. The tureen has impressed numbers and letters on the base.+ the factory stamp under the glaze.

Condition - It is an antique piece and as such has expected wear - no chips to rims or lid - even shading /tea staining- more prominent on the base than the lid - there is a fine old short hairline running 2cms down from the rim -.
