This is the most scrumptious Violet/lavender velvet covered wooden box- decorated with stud work, complete with key, silk lined lid and period paper lining.
Such a rare colourway and has such beautiful timeworn qualities- the velvet is worn in places, where the box has been opened and closed throughout the years to store away memories and treasures.
None of the decorative studs are missing, the corners are rubbed in places, all visible in the photos. It is complete with original key, and although I have struggled to get it to lock, perhaps with a little persuasion or perseverance it may work.
The silk lining on the inside of the lid is a little detached in places - but all present and the paper is in excellent condition- slightly chalky to the touch.
