This is an antique 19th century home spun woven organic linen sheet- these were spun on rustic home made looms in true cottage industry style in rural France. Their looms were generally 1 metre wide - so for a larger bed they stitched two lengths together, by hand along the centre. This has the finest stitches joining the two panels.

The weave is irregular and the linen varies - this is the charm of these sheets no two are the same - perfect to throw over a bed, dye, spilt and use as curtain panels, - strong enough to use for upholstery. Alternatively create clothing - this sheet offers a large amount of linen to work with.

It has a tiny monogram at the top in red cross stitch. GC. This sheet is freshly laundered - dried outside in the French sun, pressed & immediately ready for use.
