An antique leather French rifle case -
"Ham/leg of mutton" shape old leather case from the early 20th century. circa 1910/20's
Has a storage pouch intended to receive a rifle.
In lined leather, with securing buckle & strap still intact on interior, it is equipped with a removable shoulder strap & carrying handle , allowing it to be worn on the shoulder or carried in the hand.
This type of case allows you to safely transport and with maximum space saving a rifle that has been previously "broken" (the butt separated from the barrels, arranged side by side).
The original label is still visible on the exterior side.
Condition- This case is in good condition, it has been used but cared for - the leather fixing straps, handle and shoulder straps are all complete and undamaged. The leather case is free of damage and the fine stitching is all intact and undamaged.
The leather patina is lightly stained but characterful.
Perfectly useable.
