Fabulous large antique French wood and metal birdcage - dating from circa 1920's/30's.
Scratch built - with lift up flap and pull out tray - this is a wonderful display piece. - rustic folk art style.
Faded paint on wood - creams and blues.
It has a small door that opens and closes on the front lower left.- The top is attached to the cage.
The wooden top is covered with a painted thin metal sheet which has aged perfectly.
This birdcage is perfectly suitable to use outside or inside - it is substantial enough.
Perches, Trapeze and water/food bowl inside.
Condition Good antique condition - - patina wonderful but paint chippy in places -if you like things pristine and new perhaps this is not for you. Wooden base no worm or weakness.
It would be a beautiful addition to any home inside or out - a decorative piece to use with plants or birds ! - and I could also see it being a superb addition to the styling at a wedding.
