Beautiful antique Art Nouveau Portrait French Mirror and dating from the late 1800's. It is gesso over wood - with a highly decorative raised pattern - most typical of the Art nouveau period scrolling leaves, lily of the Vally & fuschias - with overall original gilding.

It is also important to note that all the gesso is in good condition throughout - there is a little wear visible on the mitre joints but minimal for this style of mirror- there are a couple of the tiniest areas, where there is a little missing gesso but this is shown in the photos.

The mirror we believe to be original to the frame - It is extremely thick glass- the back has been replaced at some time and is later.

The frame is heavy wood and would need a fitting added , in order to hang on the wall, or this could stand on a shelf.

Condition-Good antique condition- there are signs of wear on some of the edges and corners - but all intact - Please do check out all the photos and enlarge- as they clearly show the condition and all angles of this piece.- They are an integral part of the description.
