These are such a fabulous find - Large woven Sisal/Coir sack, heavy and exceptionally strong.
This is a French 'sac de Charbon' coal sack , dating from the turn of the century 1900's. These are unused and make wonderful rustic log (or coal!) baskets by the fire. Also great to stand large indoor plants in for a natural eco appearance.
I could also see them used in a boot room or similar for storage.
Unique and rare to find.
They are two rectangles woven together with a turnover on the top edge and four ties around the sides.
The rollover at the top does make them easy to pick up, but they do have a weight! - These were built to last, quite amazing to think they are over 100years old.

Condition- Overall good , strong condition, Sisal/Coir does shed unused so no coal deposits. It would be very easy for the buyer to create a calico type lining if you wished.
