Adorable Provencal French antique boutis quilt or comforter - two borders of trailing floral design - one around the edge of the quilt and one set in against a plain cotton in a natural calico colour. The edge of the quilt is scalloped. The reverse is the most heavenly ticking style stripe with tiny rosebuds/berries running the length of the stripe. Totally reversible either side is equally attractive.

We have freshly laundered and it is ready for immediate use.
This dates from the 1930's and is in good condition for the age - this quilt has been treasured and cared for. There is an area of light shading on the main central beige/white panel - this is faint -see photo 12 - which we believe is likely to improve with further washing. There are no repairs or damage.
This quilt is all hand stitched - It measures 84" x 87" or 215 cms x 240cms - Each lozenge shaped quilt measures 10.75cms/27" in height.
