We adore this- it is characterful and unique - and truly difficult to find in such original divine aged patina that just sets it apart - 

Antique WF Paris Lille Silk thread box with 5 drawers, still with original partitions little polished wooden pull handles - this would have been found in a Mercerie/Haberdashery shop on the counter and contain all the silks they had available for sale. The drawers are printed in gold with the type of thread they held- the print is faded but still visible on close inspection.

It dates from the turn of the 20th century - early 1900's- it is wooden in construction, covered with a deep ox blood textured paper and with gold detailing and the Company logo on each of the sides and the top.

Few of these survive in such original condition - as they are subject to damp & sunlight damage - that's what makes this so special.

Condition -Let's make no mistake this cabinet has seen life -there is wear and discolouration to the textured paper covering - if you love unique pieces that seamlessly work and sit aside other characterful items - then this piece is a jewel. There are a few pin holes - these are ancient and it has been fully treated as a precaution - minimal and only mentioned for complete transparency.
