A romantic French allegorical Art Nouveau sculpture/pair figures "Le mois de Mai"- The month of May by Pyat. It is cast in spelter and stands on an attractive highly polished cylindrical wooden base- with a gold coloured decorative collar between the base and the figures. The patina on this piece is just outstanding it has a green Verdi gris style colouring. The quality and detail of the casting is superb, the movement in the figures the detail of birds, butterflies and the drape of the costumes impressive.
