Two different period weaves on either side of this characterful French quilt- early 1800's. Indienne influence. The quilt is all hand stitched with embroidery silk and is filled with teased and combed sheep wool.
Please be aware this quilt is in poor condition in parts- see photos, but still a great example of an antique textile pattern and possibly of interest to textile artists or for re cycling, props etc.
The red Indienne side is in better condition than the Pink/beige stripe side - where the centre panel that runs the length of the quilt is particularly time worn.
This quilt is priced accordingly.

It is as found - it has not been laundered - but has been stored sealed and has no nasty odours or mustiness.
