Barbotine as it is known here in France is currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity and collectors are always keen to increase their Collection - this would be a fine addition.
This is a beautiful example of a Gien Majolica(can be found in several French barbotine reference books) -asparagus Cradle /basket in Emerald green, lagoon green, heather and lavender - dating from the late 1800's . This piece is hand painted- impressed signature 'ET 'under the glaze on the underside and carries the factory stamp.
Condition- Good condition - bright colours and clear - No cracks or hairlines to be ultra picky there is light crazing throughout and the tiniest 'fleck' on a corner- underside- mentioned for complete accuracy and shown in photo 5- . Please do check the photos and enlarge they are an important and integral part of the description.
